Changes in the 1Y Master programme

Educational curricula can change from year to year. Below you will find the recent curriculum changes 1-Year Master.

 

Changes starting 2022-2023

Exam and Examination Regulation - Applies to all 1-year Master students

- Articles 2.2 and 2.5 (Admission): updated according to current practice.

- Article 4.2 (entrance requirements): 'Introduction in Problem-Based Learning' now mandatory for all students, including former UM  bachelor students.

- Article 4.2 (entrance requirements): added requirement for Clinical Internship ,  8 ECTS of core courses in period 1 and 2 are required.
 
 

Rules and Regulations - Applies to all 1-year Master students

- Art. 2 (Research Internship): Added the rule that you need to inform the Education Office about your internship, before you start with the internship.

PSY4950 Introduction in Problem‐Based Learning: now mandatory for all students, including UM bachelor students.

Students have no longer  the choice to choose between  PSY4034  "EEG and ERP practical" and the practical PSY4033 (PSY4033) "Measuring Attention and Executive Functions in Behavioural Paradigms"  :Students that did not take PSY4033 missed relevant knowledge later on.
 
PSY4033 "Measuring Attention and Executive Functions in Behavioural  Paradigms":  now in period 2, was period 1.
 
PSY4037 Psychological Tests: now in period 1, was in period 2.
 

 

 

Changes starting 2021-2022

Exam and Examination Regulation - Only applies to 1Y Master Cohort 2021-2022

- Added a paragraph that mentions voluntary mentoring, which was already in practice.
 

Rules and Regulations - Applies to all 1-year Master students

- Updated requirements for internship supervisors. Unchanged: The internship coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the supervisors meet the requirements.
- A pass for Neuropsychological Assessment is now a prerequisite to start the clinical internship. Unchanged: only NP students can take a clinical internship during their programme.

PSY4041 Experts and Their Biases has a new code and name: PSY4043 Thinking like an Expert.
 
 Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4041 will be booked for PSY4043.
PSY4020 Neuropsychology in the Courtroom and PSY4017 Public Policy in Legal Psychology will be offered parallel in Period 2.
 Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4020 and/or PSY4017 have to check their schedule.

PSY4121 Occupational Health Audit has a new code and name: PSY4127 The Future of Work Part 1. 
 
 Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4121 will be booked for PSY4127. 
 
PSY4124 Conflict Management has a new code and name: PSY4126 Virtual Collaboration for the Common Good.  
 
 Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4124 will be booked for PSY4126. 
PSY4125 Data Analyses has a new code and name: PSY4128 The Future of Work Part 2.  Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4125 will be booked for PSY4128. 
 
 

NeuroPsychology

Cohort 2020-2021

 



Consequences cohort 2019-2020 or before

The 4 core courses have been changed and reorganised into 4 new courses: PSY6061 Brain Functioning; PSY6062 Neurobehavioural Functioning; PSY6063 Optimising Brain and Behaviour;  PSY6064 Methods of Assessment.
 
 Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed one or more core courses (PSY4061 - Brain Damage; PSY4062 - Behavioural Disorders; PSY4064 - Arousal and Attention; PSY4067 - Ageing) will be contacted by the Board of Examiners. 
PSY4063 Practical Training: Neuropsychological Assessment now in period 2, was period 1.   
 
 Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4063 will be booked.  
PSY4066 Practical Training: Basic Cognitive Psychological Skills now in period 1, was period 2.
 
 
Students who started in 2019-2020 or before and have not yet passed PSY4066 will be booked.

The 1-year master Psychology & Law has a new name: Legal Psychology
 
 
 
PSY4012 Eyewitnessess and Victims has a new code and name: PSY4019 Psychology of Eyewitness Testimony. 
 
 Students who started in 2017-2018 or before and have not yet passed PSY4012 will be booked for PSY4019.
PSY4014 Experts and Their Decisions has a new code and name: PSY4041 Experts and their Biases. 
 
 Students who started in 2017-2018 or before and have not yet passed PSY4014 will be booked for PSY4041.
 
PSY4015 Psychology and Law in Action has a new code and name: PSY4042 Legal Psychology in Action. Students who started in 2017-2018 or before and have not yet passed PSY4015 will be booked for PSY4042.
 
PSY4016 Forensic Neuropsychology has a new code and name: PSY4020 Neuropsychology in the courtroom.
 
 Students who started in 2017-2018 or before and have not yet passed PSY4016 will be booked for PSY4020.

New period: PSY4002 Bad Habits offered in period 1 (not period 2) Students who started in 2015-2016 or before and:

• who have not obtained the attendance, should register for this module which is now offered in period 1 instead of period 2;

• who have obtained the attendance: should register for take exam only. The exam takes place in Exams period 1 and the resit in period 3.
 
New period: PSY4102 Practical Training Cognitive Paradigms in Health Psychology offered in Period 1
(not period 2)
 
 Students who started in 2015-2016 or before and who have not passed this module should register for the module via the student portal in period 1.
New period: PSY4004 Manipulation offered in Period 2 (not period 1) Students who started in 2015-2016 or before and:

• who have not obtained the attendance, should register for this module which is now offered in period 2 instead of period 1;

• who have obtained the attendance: an extra take exam only will be offered in P1. You should register for this via student portal.
