Read the pages on graduation.
• Keep in mind that there is fewer staff working during the summer months.
• Hand in your documents on time.
• De-register on time via Studielink
If you do not de-register, you will stay registered until the end of the academic year (31 August). The months that you stay registered after your graduation date will be regarded as your second bachelor’s or master’s registration. This means you will be charged the high tuition fees. So be sure to file a de-registration request in Studielink as soon as you have submitted your last piece of academic work (i.e. exam or thesis). Don’t wait until you receive your results – that will be too late. Check the UM-website for more information on terminating your studies.
If you graduate in June, July or August then you do not need to deregister. You will be automatically deregistered by Maastricht University with effect from 1 September. During these months you can still make use of the facilities of Maastricht University. This exception is made because in the months July and August you no longer have the right to be reimbursed any tuition fees that you have already paid. Check the UM-website for more information on graduating in June, July or August.
