Changes in the Master Mental Health programme

Educational curricula can change from year to year. Below you will find an overview of both curriculum related and general changes.

Changes starting 2024-2025

Curriculum changes Master Mental Health  and Pre-master Mental Health 2023-2024

Exam and Examination Regulation - Applies to all master Mental Health students (all cohorts and specialisations)
Art. 2.3 (language requirements): students who have obtained both a required bachelor and master in the English language would possibly not fall under the language requirements as they were written down, as they may not have the level of Dutch that is required for the master Mental Health. Therefore, this article has been adjusted.
Art. 3.6 (curriculum): clarification about the impossibility to switch between the full-time and part-time version of the master Mental Health.
Art. 4.2 (entrance requirements): abolishment of the rule that students can only start their research internship if at least 6 credits are obtained from the modules in period 1 &2. The research internship can now be started after the start of the academic year.
Art. 5.11 (requirements signing off modules): addition of the term ‘trainingsbijeenkomsten’ next to tutorial meetings as a requirement.

Pre-master Mental Health

Pre-master Mental Health, Art.3 (admission requirements): since the pre-master is only open to students with a university of applied sciences degree (it is not allowed to already have obtained a bachelor or master from a research university), this article has been amended.
Pre-master Mental Health Art. 8 (curriculum): 2 courses have switched periods.

Rules and Regulations - Applies to students from all cohorts
1.    Participation obligation (article 2.2): the examination committee now also refers to clinical skills trainings. Moreover, the validity of these clinical skills training courses is limited to three years, as students may lose these skills without practice.
2.    Resits (article 3.3): this article establishes the existing practice that students can also do a resit in case of a ‘No Grade’ (NG). The rules on resits for master's thesis are now separated from the general resit rules for written assignments. It is now also stipulated what a student must do in case of a failing grade for the research internship or clinical internship, namely submit a request for remediation to the Board of Examination.
3.    Additional examination opportunity or other form of examination (Article 3.4): This article has been tightened in the sense that a student will only be granted an additional exam opportunity or other form of examination once there is an outstanding (final) part.
4.    Cum laude and summa cum laude (article 4.1): students must now complete all blocks/modules from period 1 to 4 (previously period 1 to 3) within the academic year in which students started the master's programme to be eligible for cum laude or summa cum laude.
5.    Fraud and plagiarism (articles 5.1 to 5.3): the old fraud article has been updated and redistributed into three separate articles for readability. There is now an article on fraud, an article on plagiarism and an article on penalties in case of fraud and/or plagiarism. Please note that the examples of fraud and plagiarism mentioned in the articles are not meant to be an exhaustive list.
