Application steps
In regular electives you join the sessions but this is a student-initiated module. This means that a you can only be enrolled in this elective if you have found a place to do an internship. Also good to know:
• This internship can not be used when applying for the psychodiagnostics registration (BAPD) and/or vLOGO. Both have strict requirements about accepting working experience, this internship does not meet those criteria.
• The coordinator of this elective has to approve the internship. There needs to be a supervisor (i.e., a psychologist) at the host organisation, and the content of the internship has to be related to the objectives of the FPN bachelor programme.
• Submit your choice(s) via the FPN electives application form
Select this elective option "The Professional in Psychology: An Internship (PSY3379)" as your first choice on the FPN electives application form.
As this internship will usually be 6 ECTS, you have to complete additional elective courses for 18 ECTS in total. When you want to do these additional electives at FPN, indicate the total number of courses you need including PSY3379. Select PSY3379 as your first preference, followed by the other electives you prefer.

Questions about the Internship "Professional in Psychology" PSY3379
When can I do an internship?
Anywhere in period 1, 2 or 3. You can decide yourself when you plan your internship during these three periods and you can even do the internship during your summer break (but not in period 6 of year 2). You will get 6 ECTS for this elective, which equals 168 hours. You can be flexible in how you plan these hours, which means that you could for example work fulltime for 4 weeks, or work part-time for a longer period of time.
Is there a list of organizations that I can contact to find an internship?
No, you should find an internship yourself.
Can I do an internship and follow another elective at the same time?
Yes, that is possible if you don’t do the internship fulltime. Please note that you are responsible for the planning, so you have to make sure that you can be present at the university if you for example have a tutorial group for your other elective.
I found a company where I can do my internship. What should I do next?
You should contact the course coordinator to discuss the internship. After her approval, you will receive the internship contract that has to be signed by the supervisor in the company, the course coordinator and you. Don’t forget to choose this course (PSY3379) as one of your choices when submitting your preferences for the electives.
